About Our Puppies
When you buy a puppy with Southern Star, you know they have come from parents with great temperaments, and are happy, healthy puppies.
Raising Our Puppies
From the very start, we pride ourselves on providing great socialization with family, friends, and visitors.
For the first 4 weeks, they are brought up inside. Our house is a very busy household, with our large family and grandchildren coming and going all the time, giving the puppies lots of cuddles. From a young age, they get to meet lots of people, and then when they need more room and space to run around and explore, we move them to our large outdoor puppy run with a heated shed. Here they have plenty of toys and things to climb on and through. We live on a one-acre lifestyle block so they have oodles of space to play, run and explore.
We also provide developmental appropriate training. They have alone time inside the house before they go, and embark on car rides in their travel crates.
Our puppies are ready to go to their new families at 8 weeks of age.

Visiting Us
and Our Puppies
Shilo, Inca, Maple & Cruz live with us here. All our other breeding dogs in our Guardian breeding program live with their forever families and come back to us to have their babies.
When we have litters here it is a very busy time for us and we prefer families to visit their puppies from 6 weeks old onwards, after their first vaccination. And then we can start getting a better idea of their personalities at this age, so it's a good time to match puppies with families.
Health Testing
We are very proud to say that we complete DNA testing on our parent dogs, and most of our breeding dogs have had PENN Hip and Elbow Xrays completed. So we strive to give you and your family a healthy puppy with a wonderful temperament.
Their New Home
Please be aware that we require a fully fenced yard and human companionship for most of the day. Before the puppy leaves us a contract must be signed which requires the puppy to be desexed between 6-10 months of age.
